Daniel Nairac appointed new Chairman

Further to the retirement of Mr J. Hugues Maigrot, the Board of Directors of Terra Mauricia Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Daniel Nairac as Non-Executive Chairperson of the Company as from 29th June 2012.

Daniel Nairac started his career as economist at the Charter Consolidated Anglo-American Group in Londonin 1968. He stayed with the group up to 1976, as a member of the management team in Paris as well as Administration Manager of a copper-cobalt project in Zaire. After a brief spell in Mauritiusbetween 1976 and 1979, where he worked for the Espitalier-Noël group, he left for Europe, first working as an advisor to diamond companies in Antwerp, and from 1981 up to his retirement in 2005, as Divisional Manager and Senior Advisor to the directorate, for the ACP-EU Centre for the Development of Enterprise in Brussels. Now based in Mauritius, he continues to collaborate with a mining company in Africa and is the director of a mining exploration offshore company based in Mauritius. Daniel Nairac has been elected in replacement of Mr J. Hugues Maigrot as Director of Terra Mauricia Ltd at the Annual Meeting of the Company held on the 27th June 2012.

 

Mr Hubert Harel and Mrs Margaret Wong have also been elected on the same day as Directors of the Company. These appointments were made following the retirement of George Dumbell and Louis Guimbeau who did not seek their reappointment as Directors at the Annual Meeting of the Company.
