In line with the opening of this year’s cane harvest, an ecumenical ceremony took place on the 13th of July at the factory of Belle Vue. This annual event was attended by employees of Belle Vue and the Harel Frères Group, representatives of the sugar authorities, planters, and the press.
After the traditional prayers of several religious communities, various objects representing the different steps of the harvest processes were presented to the guest of honor, Mr. Hugues Maigrot, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Harel Frères Group. Before highlighting the events which marked the year 2010 at the factory of Belle Vue, Jean Arthur Lagesse, the Managing Director, has noted out the figures for the last year’s campaign and announced the forecasts for 2011.
